Attendance Counts!
As we begin another exciting school year, we would like to emphasize the importance of regular daily attendance and arriving to school on time. Consistent attendance plays a vital role in your child’s academic success, helping them to stay engaged in their learning, build strong relationships with peers and teachers, and develop a sense of responsibility.
We expect all students to arrive to school on time each day, ready to learn. Being punctual ensures that your child doesn’t miss valuable instruction and starts the day in a positive way. Students enter their classrooms after the first bell rings at 9:10 and instruction begins promptly at 9:15. We have given students the first week and a half of school to get used to their class location and arrival routines. Beginning Monday, September 12, students who are not in their classroom when the final bell rings at 9:15 will be marked tardy. Students who are in the hallway but not in class when the final bell rings will be required to sign in late. We ask for your support in helping your child establish a routine that allows them to be present and on time.
In addition to arriving on time, we also expect students to remain at school until the end of the day. Early departures can disrupt not only your child's learning but also the overall classroom environment. Every minute of the school day is valuable, and staying until the end allows students to participate in important closing activities, complete their work, and receive any final instructions for the following day. We appreciate you trying to schedule routine appointments outside of the school day when possible. To allow participation in their closing activities and keep disruption to a minimum we will not call classrooms for a student’s early release after 3:30 each day (1:20 on Wednesday).
We appreciate you partnering with us in making your child's educational journey a success.
