Principal Message - End of School Year

Message From

As we come to the end of our school year, I would like to share how grateful I am to be leading such a strong community of students, parents & staff. It has been an amazing year. I am so proud of all of the achievements and accomplishments of our Challenger students. These would not be possible without your support and dedication.

Over the past school year, we have had so many great memories and events to look back on. We continued successful traditions like school spirit days, Family Bingo Night, Festival of Cultures, Book Fair, Field Day and The Color Run. We’ve had new experiences like Family Math Night, Glow Party, and the STEM Fair. Our students really enjoyed all of these activities and we look forward to repeating them in the future.

We are always focused on school improvement through our students’ academic, social & emotional growth.  This year, we introduced monthly Challenger Achievement Awards.  These awards were connected to Ms. Lingenbrink’s counseling themes/lessons and awarded to students who demonstrated these skills in school. We know the social & emotional learning of a child significantly impacts their academic levels and are looking forward to continuing these awards next school year.

Our year will end with 5th grade promotion and a school wide Comet Coin Celebration.  I am so proud of our 5th grade students.  I started at Challenger when they were in kindergarten and have had the pleasure of seeing them learn and grow over the past 6 years.  As exciting as it is, it will be hard to see them move on to Middle School.  Our students have earned 4000 Comet Coins since Spring Break! To celebrate, we will have fun outside with several activities on the last day of school.  It’s a great way to reward the students for being safe, respectful, resourceful and responsible.

Looking ahead, we have an exciting change happening.  The exterior of our school will be painted over the summer.  Colors are being finalized and the work will take about a month to complete.  It is expected to be done before the students return.  I can’t wait to see how it looks!

A special thanks to our families who have contributed in any way big and small.  Your support of our school is amazing!  Thank you for the partnership between home and school, which is so important. We appreciate all that you do each and every day for our school and our children!

Have a safe and fun filled summer! See you next year!

Ms. Kessler
